Dear Carmelites,                              

Plans for the 2024 OCDS Congress, sponsored by our Washington Province, are well underway. At this time, Carmelites from 35 states (including Hawaii!), Kenya, the UK and Rome are registered to attend.

Please read Appeal Letter sent to all Presidents / Communities on March 19th, 2024.

We hope to have participation from the 138 Communities in the Province. Thank you to all our donors!

OCDS COMMUNITY DONATIONS

With that in mind, we humbly ask your community to prayerfully consider making a donation of $50.00 (or more, if you are so blessed!) to support the Congress.

This will be the first OCDS Congress held in the U.S. since 2019, all others having been cancelled due to the pandemic, so we expect a pent-up, excited demand for this long overdue “family reunion”! 

Our Statutes state that financial support of Provincial Congresses (Local Community Finances #7) is to be encouraged: “OCDS members and communities are encouraged to support the outreaches of the Order financially such as … the Provincial Congress.” 

All communities (or individuals) who make a donation of any amount, large or small, will be listed in the Congress program book. (Names of individuals or communities only; no amounts will be published.) We hope to have 100% participation from the 138 communities in the Washington Province.

Please pray about this request and then, in the words of Our Lady, “Do whatever He tells you!”
